Saved By The Bell: CoComment.com Is SOLD

by [FS] on November 8, 2008

CoComment.com has been acquired by JS-Kit.com, a much smaller funded company than CoComment.com (I would assume they ran out of money).  I was never clear on CoComment’s offering, do you?  Now, there is a new one call BackType.com (how do you monetize?).

alarm:clock reports it (here)

… comment aggregator CoComment is being acquired by JS-Kit, the rising force in blog commenting world. While terms of the deal have yet to be announced, there has to be more stock than dollars being exchanged as JS-Kit only raised $3.6m in a Series B round last month.

… we don’t think the company was even close to making serious coin

About them:

coComment is a service for managing, powering and researching conversations online. When using coComment, you can keep track of your comments across any site, share them with friends, and get notified when you get a response.

JS-Kit - Fast, powerful and incredibly simple, JS-Kit’s services let web publishers build dynamic, compelling online experiences in just minutes.

Update: TechCrunch confirmed it (here)

Do you have reliable source for it ? (except for this post on alarm clock). And did you check it ?
I cannot see any official PR, article, ……
Is this information, or just some sort of spamming just to post something ?
Sorry, but I do not get the point in just posting based one someone else post. So I hope you are going to tell more about how you are so sure about this before you publish.

So you were wrong apparently. Having reliable sources OR posting with a bit of doubt until things are proved is a must for any publisher.
Good buy …..
