Revver.com Has Some Trouble Meeting Payments

by [FS] on November 1, 2008

Some speculations around Revver.com this morning over TechCrunch (here).  Seem like Revver.com is having issues with usages (outages) or financial.  Revver.com received $12.7 millions from 5 different investors (talk about drama, geesh!).  Send us tips if you know what’s up - startuptips(at)gmail.com.

About:  Revver is an online media network built the way the internet really works. We support the free and unlimited sharing of media.  Revver is also a syndication network with great reach. Videos posted on Revver can go to places like AOL, Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Blinx, iTunes, AppleTV, WordPress, Blogger, TypePad

I’ve been unable to even get onto revver.com for over a week. Same as others I know. Always get a server error. No revver.com page will load. My account page will not load. I have a bunch of video on the site and all the links are inoperable. So is Revver gone? Is there any reason why it would be the only site I can’t get onto these days? No info anywhere.

Revver is on its last leg I would think. Download your videos soon before they go down for good, b/c you’ll have to move them somewhere else or lose the videos forever.

OK, but here’s the simple question: IS REVVER.com still functioning right now? I haven’t been able to get to any part of the site (or my own videos) in weeks. Some guy on Wikipedia insists Revver is working fine ‘everytime he checks’… but it is THE ONLY SITE on the internet I can’t get to. And others confirm. So what’s the real story?

I have been getting many viewers of my videos saying that they can’t view them (www.submissions101.com). When I wrote Revver, I got this reply:

——-

We’re having network problems that are affecting Time Warner users right now (I don’t know the full extent of it, but I know that people using Time Warner cable and Road Runner cable connections were having problems). I’d like to say it will be fixed soon, but it’s been going on for about a week now, so I’m not too sure. I’ll keep bugging our parent company.

Apologies,
Revver

So there ya go….

I finally received a similar message, after finding an email contact. If revver can’t reach Time Warner and Roadrunner … that’s pretty lame! What can be the reason?

Revver has been fantastic up until a little over a week ago, we have almost 200 videos with them (3D animations) and are crossing our fingers that Revver is just having a string of bad luck instead of looking down the barrel of a deadpool gun.

Looks like we’ll be switching our embeds to YouTube…
